Refuse Collection

Residents may contact the Village’s vendor for refuse collection to arrange service.  Residents are billed directly by the vendor for this service.  Curbside pickup service is provided unless residents arrange, at an extra cost,  for “back door” service.

Scheduled pickup is as follows:

Regular Trash

Regular trash is picked up every Monday and Thursday.  If holidays fall on a designated pickup day, the trash will be picked up the following day.  The present holidays are: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.   

Recycling

Recyclables are picked up on Wednesday according to the following schedule:

Week 1       glass/plastic/cans
Week 2       paper
Week 3       glass/plastic/cans
Week 4       paper
Week 5       no pickup

Leaf and Brush

There is no curbside leaf or brush collection in the Village of Old Field.  Please do not place loose leaves, grass, clippings, twigs, branches, or other landscape debris on the roadside.  Residents may place such materials into bags for collection.

Large & Heavy Items

Large metal items (such as file cabinets, appliances, etc.) should be placed curbside for Monday pickup.   Other large items (such as furniture, mattresses, etc.) will be collected during regular trash days on Mondays and Thursdays. 

Batteries

Batteries should not disposed of in the trash but should be brought to either Village Hall or a designated recycling center.
