Public Areas

          The Village of Old Field is responsible for the following public areas within the Village of Old Field:

• Old Field Point and Turn Around
• Kaltenborn Commons
• Beach Path
• Roadsides (10 feet in from end of pavement) of the following 

Public Streets

• Old Field Road (Kaltenborn Commons to Old Field Point)
• Mt. Grey Road (West Meadow Road to Old Field Road)
• Blueberry Ridge Road
• Conscience Bow
• West Meadow Road (North Side Quaker Path to Mt. Grey)
• Intersections at:
  • Quaker Path/Old Field Road
  • Mr. Grey Road/Old Field Road

Landscaping and Mowing

The Village provides full landscaping services for Old Field Point and Turn Around, Kaltenborn Commons, Beach Path, and the two intersections.  In addition, the Village periodically mows and maintains sight lines on the above  roadsides for the above public streets  but will not mow around any obstructions or gardens that intrude into the public right of way.

All other streets in the Village of Old Field are the responsibility of the respective Road Associations.  Any mowing or landscaping done on these streets must be arranged by and paid for by the individual Village Associations. 

Trees

 The Village of Old Field is responsible for the maintenance of healthy trees and removal of fallen or dead trees situated on the public right of way of the public streets within the Village.   Residents are responsible for the maintenance of all trees on their property even if the tree protrudes onto into falls on the public right of way.  The Road Associations are responsible for the maintenance and removal of all trees on their respective streets.

Reporting Fallen Trees

Residents discovering fallen trees on the public right of ways on the public streets of the Village of Old Field should immediately contact the Code Enforcement Office who will, in turn, contact the Village Landscaper to remove the tree and/ or make additional arrangements. 

Residents on Village Association streets should follow whatever procedures their Associations have set forth.  If the Village Association wishes to utilize the Village Landscaper Contractor, they may contact him directly (or request the assistance of the Code Enforcement Office is doing so).  However, the Village Association will be responsible for all costs associated with the tree removal.
